About The Saguaro Sisters

Sweethearts of song, Shona Karona & Katriona are all actors & soloists in their own right, having experience in both musical theater & cover-band work. They started perfecting their three part harmony 4 years ago & formed The Saguaro Sisters in early 2014 after being discovered by and partnering with voice- actor & prolific songwriter Will Ryan of Will Ryan & the Cactus County Cowboys – the Official Singing Cowboy Band of Hollywood!

As singing cowgirls the Saguaro Sisters enjoy performing original Western Skiffle material (or as their good friend Katie Leigh calls it) “Jazz on the Range” written by Ryan, who expertly crafts his songs (which often have elements of comedy) as they could’ve been written for the Golden Era of Hollywood. Think the Sons of the Pioneers meet the Andrew Sisters and you’d be close! The sisters have been introduced not only live on stage with the Cactus County Cowboys but also in several songs on Will’s CD – “Mystery at Shadow Rock Ranch”. With two more recordings in the works including a soon to be released Christmas CD, the sisters certainly are riding the Hollywood trail!

Will Ryan brought the Saguaros onstage one night and they immediately grabbed my attention. After making them give it back, I learned more about what an extraordinary vocal trio they are, digging deep back into the American Songbook and making those songs their own, as well as deftly winding their way around Will’s quirky originals. I immediately decided to showcase them in my film SCHMO BOAT, and audiences have consistently cited them as one of the highlights. They’re gonna be big very soon–but I saw ’em first! ~~ Producer & Director Michael Schlesinger
